モデルを志したきっかけを教えて下さい

幼い頃は前に出るようなタイプではなく、身長が高いのもコンプレックスでした。 そんな様子を見かねた母が、「mc sister」（ハースト婦人画報社）の専属モデルを勧めてくれたんです。 オーディション会場に着くと、私より高身長の人達が沢山いました。 コンプレックスだったものが魅力になる世界もあるんだと衝撃を受けました。 無事、専属モデルに選んで頂きキャリアをスタートしました。

What inspired you to become a model?

When I was young, I wasn’t the type to stand out, and I was self-conscious about my height. Seeing this, my mother encouraged me to audition to be an exclusive model for "mc Sister" (Hearst Fujingaho). When I arrived at the audition, I saw many people taller than me. I was shocked to realize that there was a world where what I saw as a flaw could be a charm. Fortunately, I was chosen as an exclusive model and began my career.

心境の変化はありましたか

モデルになってからは、１枚も２枚も壁が取っ払われた感覚でした。 とにかくポージングが上手くなりたくて、先輩モデルの撮影をみて真似したり鏡の前で練習しました。 どうやったら自然な笑顔が作れるのか研究の日々でした。 思い返すと必死に過ごしていましたね（笑）。

Did you experience any changes in your mindset?

After becoming a model, I felt like several walls had been torn down. I wanted to improve my posing skills, so I watched senior models during their shoots and practiced in front of the mirror. I spent every day researching how to create a natural smile. Looking back, I was very earnest about it.

印象に残っている現場はありますか

最近では「ドモホルンリンクル」の撮影が印象に残っています。 二児の母になってから初めての大きな撮影だったので感慨深かったです。 子育てをしながら撮影に向けて調整したので、緊張感をもって挑めました。

Are there any shoots that stand out in your memory?

Recently, the shoot for "Domohorn Wrinkle" left a strong impression on me. It was my first major shoot since becoming a mother of two, so it was very emotional. I had to balance child-rearing with preparation for the shoot, so I approached it with a sense of tension.

仕事とプライベートの切り替え方は

必ず自分の時間を確保する様にしています。 10分でもヨガの時間を作って頭の中をリセットするんです。 気持ちに余裕を作る事で、子供とより向き合えるし仕事の整理もできます。 ストレスはその日のうちにリセットした方が良いですよね。 世の中が落ち着いたら、キャンプ場で「星空ヨガ」や「朝日ヨガ」もしたいな。

How do you balance work and private life?

I always make sure to secure some personal time. Even if it's just 10 minutes, I do yoga to reset my mind. Creating a sense of mental space allows me to better connect with my children and organize my work. It's best to reset stress on the same day. Once things settle down, I'd love to do "stargazing yoga" or "sunrise yoga" at a campsite.

ヨガインストラクターでも活躍中ですね

ありがとうございます。最近は「産後ヨガ」も行っています。 赤ちゃんと一緒の空間でするヨガは思い通りにいかない事もあるけれど、ママ達がどんどん癒されていくのが分かります。 日々に追われている女性こそ、ヨガはおすすめですよ。 今後もモデルと並行してヨガの活動も広げたいと思っています。

You're also active as a yoga instructor.

Thank you. Recently, I've been teaching "postnatal yoga" as well. Yoga with babies doesn't always go as planned, but I can see the moms becoming increasingly relaxed. I recommend yoga especially to women who are overwhelmed by daily life. I want to continue expanding my yoga activities alongside my modeling.

忙しい女性増えていますからね

そうですね、女性はライフステージが目まぐるしく変わりますからね。 私はモデルやヨガの活動を通じて、健康やストレスの課題を抱えている人に寄り添っていける存在になりたいんです。 大変な時期って人それぞれあると思うけれど、それをどう楽しむかだと思います。

There are more and more busy women out there.

Yes, women's life stages change rapidly. Through my modeling and yoga activities, I want to be someone who supports people with health and stress challenges. Everyone has tough times, but it’s about how you enjoy them.

今後のビジョンはありますか

モデルとして幾つになってもヨガ関連の広告をしていきたいです。 世間的にヨガは若いイメージがあるかもしれませんが、世代に関係なくニーズがあると思っています。 その先駆けとして、企業のイメージモデル等を務められたら嬉しいです。 「年齢を重ねるのも悪くない！」って思ってもらえたら最高ですね。

What are your future goals?

As a model, I want to continue doing yoga-related advertisements no matter how old I get. While yoga might have a young image, I believe there's a need for it across all generations. I'd be thrilled to pioneer this by serving as an image model for companies. It would be great if people could think, "Aging isn't so bad!"

最後に一言お願いします

移籍して今は新人の様な気持ちで仕事の一つ一つが新鮮です。 年々アドバイスを頂ける機会は減ってるけど、フィードバックをもらえる環境は凄くありがたい。 社長やマネージャーとビジョンを描きながら理想に近づけるように頑張ります。 これまでお世話になった方達にもレベルアップした姿を見せたいです。

Any final words?

Having transferred agencies, I now feel like a newcomer, and each job feels fresh. Though opportunities for advice have decreased over the years, I am very grateful for any feedback I receive. I will work hard to get closer to my ideals while drawing up visions with my president and manager. I want to show those who have supported me how much I've leveled up.
