幼少期について教えて下さい

のどかな茨城県古河市で育ちました。 私はいたずら好きで、とても元気な子供だったようです。 ４つ下に弟がいるのですが、喧嘩をしながらも仲良く過ごしてきました。 弟とは今でもよく会いますし、心の拠り所になっています。

Please tell me about your childhood.

I grew up in the very peaceful city of Koga in Ibaraki Prefecture. Apparently, I was a mischievous and very energetic child. I have a younger brother who is four years younger than me, and although we fought sometimes, we grew up getting along well. Even now, we still see each other often, and he remains a great source of emotional support for me.　

モデルになったきっかけは

元々、モデルには興味がありました。 誌面に出演しているモデルはキラキラしていて、私にとって憧れの存在だったんです。 中学1年生の頃に、全盛期だった「nicola」のモデルに応募しました。 沢山の応募者から選んで頂き、モデルとしてスタートを切ることができました。

Please tell us what inspired you to become a model.

I had always been interested in this industry. All the girls appearing in it were so cute and radiant, and I truly admired them. So, when I was in my first year of junior high school, I applied to become a model for Nicola, which was extremely popular at the time. Out of thousands of applicants, I was chosen, and that was how I began my career as a model.

モデルを始めてみていかがでしたか

とにかく撮影が楽しかったです。 スタッフ達が良い誌面になるよう意見を出し合ったり、先輩モデルがアドバイスを下さったり。 その場にいる皆が同じ気持ちで、1つのものを作っている空間が大好きでした。

How was your experience after becoming a model?

More than anything, I really enjoyed the photo shoots. The staff would share ideas to make everything as good as possible, and the senior models would give me advice. I loved the atmosphere where everyone on set shared the same goal and worked together to create something special.

モデルに加えお芝居も始めたんですよね

大学生の頃から芝居のワークショップに通い始めました。 最初は本当に辛くて、行くのも嫌だったんです(笑)。 ただ、監督や先輩方が優しかったので無事やり遂げることができました。

You continued modeling while also starting acting, right?

I started attending acting workshops when I was in university. At first, it was really tough, and honestly, I didn’t even want to go sometimes (laughs). However, the directors and senior actors were incredibly kind, which helped me get through it successfully.

その経験が表現力や演技力に活かされているんですね

ありがとうございます。様々な役を演じたり、舞台のダンスシーンの構成を考えたこともあります。 良い経験を沢山させて頂き、自分の成長に繋がりました。

Those experiences have really contributed to your expressive ability and acting skills, haven’t they?

I had the opportunity to play a variety of roles, and I also helped choreograph dance scenes for stage performances. I was fortunate to gain so much valuable experience, all of which contributed greatly to my personal growth.

ところで、憧れの人はいますか

「見る度に違う人」に憧れます。 これはモデルでも役者でも一緒です。 俳優で言うと、戸田恵梨香さんが好きです。 戸田さんのような、色々な魅せ方ができる人に惹かれますね。

Do you have someone you look up to?

I admire people who feel like “a different person every time you see them.” That applies both to modeling and acting. In terms of actresses, I really look up to Erika Toda. I’m drawn to people like her who can show so many different sides of themselves and captivate others in various ways.

「BEST BODY JAPAN」にも出場しました

大会の事を聞き、「楽しそう！やってみたい！」と。 当時、体の不調もあり改善できるきっかけになるとも考えました。 結果的に筋肉もつき、体質改善に繋がったので良かったです。

You also competed in BEST BODY JAPAN, didn’t you?

When I heard about the competition, I thought, “That sounds fun—I want to try it too!” Around that time, I was also dealing with some physical issues, so I felt it could be a good opportunity to improve my condition. In the end, I was able to build muscle and improve my overall physical condition, so I’m really glad I took on the challenge.

見事、準グランプリ獲得！

やるからには徹底的にやろうと思ったんです。 やっていくうちに、「もっとこうしたらどうなるかな？」という興味も増え、 それが原動力となりました。

And it’s impressive that you even went on to win the semi-Grand Prix, isn’t it?

Once I decided to do it, I thought I would commit fully and take it seriously. As I kept going, I became more and more curious, thinking, “What would happen if I did this differently?” That curiosity became a driving force for me.

瞳さんの性格が現れていますね

昔から負けず嫌いなんですよね（笑）。好きなことには一直線になれます。

That really reflects your personality, doesn’t it?

I’ve always been quite competitive. When it comes to things I like, I can be very focused and go straight for it.

最近はマタニティヨガも学んでますよね

ヨガは元々好きでしたが、マタニティヨガについても知れたら、 女性の役に立てると思いました。解剖学も学べたので楽しかったです。

You’ve also been studying prenatal yoga recently, haven’t you?

I’ve always liked yoga, and I thought that learning about prenatal yoga as well would allow me to be helpful to others. I also studied anatomy alongside it, so it was really enjoyable.

ゴルフも得意だとか

ゴルフスクールにも通いました。 今では母とラウンドできる様になったんです。

I’ve heard you’re also good at golf.

I also attended a golf school. Now I’m able to play rounds with my mother, which makes it really enjoyable.

最後に、今後のビジョンをお願いします

1つひとつ目の前の仕事や人、環境を大切にしながら、 今までの経験を活かして、見る度に違う遠藤瞳になるのが目標です。

Lastly, please tell us about your vision for the future.

While cherishing every job, person, and environment in front of me, I want to make use of all the experiences I’ve had so far and become a “Hitomi Endo” who shows a different side every time she is seen.
